如果要用一只杯子認識 Fire-King，D-Handle Mug 大概會是最適合的開始。


Fire-King 是 Anchor Hocking 在 1940 年代推出的耐熱玻璃系列，原本就不是為了被放進收藏櫃裡，而是進入美國家庭、餐桌與日常生活中使用。

Jadeite 這種柔和的翡翠綠，也在那個年代成為 Fire-King 最具代表性的顏色之一。


D-Handle Mug 的名字很直接，來自像英文字母「D」的手把；正式品名則是 8 oz Coffee Mug，容量大約 240ml。

它沒有複雜圖案，也沒有刻意做得華麗，就是厚實的玻璃、簡單的線條，和那個很難被取代的綠色。


我覺得它真正迷人的地方，是一件七、八十年前設計出來的日用品，到今天還是可以很自然地出現在生活裡。

早上裝咖啡、牛奶，甚至只是擺在桌上，都不會有「古董只能收藏」的距離感。

不會因為老所以珍貴，而是經過這麼多年之後，依然好看、依然實用。
